What I've done so far...

So I've had my PSP for other 3 months now and I've managed to do some rather neat things.

I've managed to get the firmware updated via a demo disc that came with PSP mag, which also had a few demos and short films on it. The demo of Loco Roco is awsome and I will be buying it when I can afford it or see it really cheap.

I've also managed to do a network update, and enable my Flash playback and WMA playback. I've listerned to a couple of RSS channels vis the little monmster.

With the WMA playback I've managed to play most of my music collection on my PSP. Now all I need is a decent amount of memeory space as 32MB is really far too small.

I also purchased PSP which comes with a load of stuff for the PSP including cheat saves and wall papers. I've used the Burnout save with Dave so he can win the cars from it then I won the back onto my save. So I now have both the Compact and Mucles garages full, woo. I also managed to get the Send & receive function working and transfered some images to Dave's machine.

There's more to come, but I'm pacing myself.

PSP bargain of the month!

SSX: On Tour [Used]

Right I’m gonna get a couple of things out of the way with this game. One is I got it in a buy one used game for £15 get another used game ½ price in Game in. So WipEout Pure ended up costing me £7.50. A total bargain, well done Game..

Secondly this if this a total port of PS2 , I’m glad I never wasted my time buying it, even when I saw it for about £12 new at X-mas. If this is a port of the PS2 version then it’s a very good one cos it looks like a SSX3 on PS2, right down to it using the same damn tracks. Which is good and bad for ages I didn’t think that the game suffered cos of the lack of 2nd mole. It doesn’t when you realise you have to improve your character vis clothing and equipment. I should just mention that the major difference from SSX3 is that you can now do it all on skis, I kid you not.

When I got over the stupid decision to put a grab on the same button as you boost and realised that triangle held down allows you to snow manual. The game opens up, then you have a go on the skis and go argh, get it away you’ve broken SSX. Snowboard Super Cross is what the title meant, no bloody mention of skis. It looks like a way to pad the game out.

I’m currently having a good bash at the boarding and it’s opening up well but it’s still parts of the mountain from SSX3, which is fair play cos that ruled. Sadly no 30 minute runs from top to tail, so far!?.

I’ll keep you updated on my progress and if I ever managed to have Wi-Fi game.

WipEout:Pure [£7.50 see the other review for reason]

I was the first on the WipEout bus many years ago, on that grey box (I’ll be the lasted off. With any luck it’ll be with a free pass). Ok it was over 10 years ago and I loved the mad mix of banging beats and twisted circuits and speed. Wow did it have speed. And I’m glad to say it still does. I’ve played all of the available WipEout games and this sits nicely between PS1 games up Wip3out and The PS2 version which I must say was never a huge fan of. Can we forget that the PS2 version ever happened except for maybe Zone Mode which rocks.

This is smooth and the sound track seems to be as expected. The game is easy to play and thankfully I’m making use of the damn PSP mole that I don’t play games with cos it’s weird. Now I do and I very pleased about it. It corners smoothly and you can position your nose into corners. Which I’m sure I’m gonna need later on.

I’m gonna explain something I’ve not played nearly as much of this as I should. I’m really enjoying it and I’ve managed to have A few Wi-Fi games which rock. Might I add I got beaten at but not tragically. You can also game share for friends who haven’t got the game, which I’ve not needed to try but I expect it much like the way Burnout Legends works. The thing that strikes me as really interesting is that you can do it via the net and play other people. I’ll need a fair bit of practice before I’m anywhere near that standard.

That’s why I’m gonna give you updates as I progress through expect an update about the “down-loadable content” that is supposed to include music, skins, tracks and vehicles. As well as my progress through the rankings, and any Wi-Fi gaming that I do either via friends or on-line.
