No Place To Hide[oh dear]
The farse that is the start of the MGO beta (see below) are still not looking good since my last comment.
I have tried to register with PSP & PS3 web browsers at various times over the last 24 hours to register my 2 additional IDs.
Konami ID and Game ID to add to my PSN ID. I have no idea why and why you use the PS3 web browser (which I'm not the biggest fan of) to start with is beyond me. I suppose it is a start of system intergration and the end of the PC (I can only hope).
If you are luck enough to get to the "Create your ID" pages you have to make a very specific ID that cant be the same or include capital letters. WTF? Also you have to create entirely numerical passwords, for Game ID.
This is a bit on the strange side and I wish I had tried to register before downloading the beta cos this is madness the servers can't take the hammering.
If. I mean when I get my ID registered (hopefully before the beta test ends) I'll let you know what it's like when it goes live at 23:00 BST 20/04/08

Finally at 03:20 on the 20/04/2008 I managed to register my Konami ID and Game ID. After much add do and frustration at screen time outs. It finally worked. Well at least Konami's site says I'm registered and I can get in with my Konami ID to their site, Saadly I've not received my confirmation email yet but considering how difficult it's been to register that the least of my worries.
So If you wanna meet up for a chat or a blast on the beta my ID are as follows:
Konami: sowhat_at_20six (the same as my Yankie PSN ID)
Game ID: v_d_j_o_m_b_

It looks like thankfully most of my buddies have gotten past the ID creation issues and I'll have a few familiar people to chat and game with. Will make the test (read trying) experience that much better.
I am having a rather strange issue and that is with Email confirmations of account creation. It's showing my email address has already been taken. A bit strange that, even when I tried an address that should not have been registered it's saying it has. I need to check with other people to see if they're having this issue. Hopefully it won't effect my ability to test.

Just checked. Sadly you can't get onto the servers yet but....
They have finally added the English game manual and it's rather good. Explains all the bits that you need to know with regards setup. Controls, SOP system, Comms (chat & mail), Community (Friends, Messages, Clans, Ranks).
Not long know and hopefully I'll be able to give you an exclusive first play.
That's providing I ccan get in, manage to do the training level and get a couple of games. Best hope is I just play for the next 8 hours straight.

The saga continues. AT 23:00 BST I managed to try and log in to get a different error message other than unable to connect to servers.
The one myself and many buddies have been getting is
"The GAME ID or password is incorrect. Unable to login to server. (0911:0000003)"
After having a chat with a couple of buddies who couldn't get in either. I didsocvered that they both have had email confirmations of ID's. I still haven't.
I have just taken a call from a buddy who has managed to get to the menu screen after 25 attempts. So I'm gonna go back on and keep trying.
Isn't the definaition of insanity doing the same thing over and over expecting different results? What does it mean if you actually get a different result?

Am I nearly there yet?
Well yes and no.
I can get into the main menu now which means my GAME ID works wooooo. I've had an explore of the menus and had a fiddle with them.
Sadly everytime I try and get into a game I get greeted with a disconnection error. I also can't access the community pages. As it asks me to re-enter my Game ID & Password. This needs fixing straight off.
I should also go back and re-read the term and conditions as there appears to be reference to paying monthly subs for ranking!?
I've been taking tonnes of images if I manage to knock them together as an anim, I'll post it here ;-P
I'll post with any news.

We have a little more progress.
I started to get a PC error when loggin in and then managed to get to the character creation page.
You'll never guess what you have to do. Create another name. So far this game now involves PSN ID, Konami ID, Game ID and Character Name WTF? How am I ever gonna find my clan mates.
This name thing threw me and decided to register what I orginally wanted as my game name. This allowed me to progress through. I managed to set up the guys head, and voice (including accet and pitch), I also managed to have a play with the costumes. They are very basic but it's a beta so what can you say. Got to the last pasge and got "These setting cannot be changed are you sure you want to continue?
I paniced and backed up to the name to change it back to my PSN ID. Then I got an error message. Retried, same error.
Then I got a message saying someone with my Game ID was already logged in. I think it was due to the errors and the servers not logging me out properly before it logged in.
