Zzzz Zzz Zz Z [snoring loudly]
More MGO info: And it's not great news sadly.
I awoke this afternoon (after giving up on the beta at 5:30BST today), to be told that the beta has been taken down. Not just for us Euro's but the Yanks and Japs also.
There is an official announcement on the MGO pages mentioning that it was due to "too high a demand", (well d'urgh) and there will be an announcement about when it is to reopen, "On the 22/04/08". It did also mention that the beta is to be extented by 5 day as well.
So are Konami going to give me the last 5 days holidays from work back after this debarcale, no of course not as they have excluded it in their own liability in EULA.
I think I may well go back to work, a couple of days early depending on the announcement.
Sadly I can't even give you any first impression of this game.
I hope Sony & Konami are watching what is happening there are a lot of people who are really unhappy with this and the difficulty in getting any official answers.
I'll comment as soon as I know more.

A quick update from http://www.ps3fanboy.com states that Konami are going to relaunch the Open beta at least for US & Japan on 25/04/08 and it's run until 11/05/2008. They haven't said when the EU beta will reopen as it's currently suspended due to hig demand. What really? Personally I think they have lkearned from the mistake of trying to launch it to all of EU and it's causing them server problems.
So they have changed it to a date that just happens to be after the launch of GTA1V. I wonder why may be because a lot of people will be playing this and then the servers will not be killed by everone and his dog trying tog et into the beta. Konamai should use this as an idea of how popular this franchise is and how much people want to be a part of it.

Soi sadly back to work for me tomorrow as there is little point in me being at home if there is no testing going on. I'm gonna try and get a few more days off when I know the beta is deffinately happening as I'm not bothered by GTAIV at the mo but really wanna test MGO.
Roll on Friday. I'll add any confirmed news that I find.
Lets just hope it causes me less of a headache than I'm currently suffering due to the stress of this mess. I'm now asking myself could really turn a hobbie I love into a job that will make me this stressed out. Maybe it would depend on if the money was right. Or on seeing a mess beig turned into something wonderful.

Sharing the disappointment but it is a beta test, can't expect everything to run like a paid for game. There's been a press release on the official MGO site since this morning, Japanese beta still going ahead as planned, US & UK offline till 8 am on 26th April, servers should be switched on then, end of the beta has been extended to the 11th May to compensate. Check out www.konami.jp/mgo/en/index.html for the full info.

Cheers mate you saved me the hassle of adding it, as a comment.
I'll set us up a Contructive criticism only blog post soon. So us Laarkies (and anyone else who feels like it) can add our thoughts, ideas and suggestions.
For those that don't know what contructive means it's things that will help improve the final version of MGO that are discovered during the beta.
That said Ragonda's comment about "S.O.P.standing for Severs Offline Permanantly" was very funny.
